Vintage Moroccan Ourika Carpet OR22
This lively Ourika carpet exhibits balanced female and male symbolism with an abstract lozenge pattern floating over a field of checker motifs. Knotted in a mixture of natural ivory and brown wool for the ground, with bright multicolored boucherouite fibers partially filling the lozenges. Sawtooth borders along both selvedges form protective symbolism. Mixed wool and cotton fibers on a cotton warp.
