Vintage Moroccan Beni Alaham Carpet BA15

This Beni Alaham features a large scale lozenge motif holding an intriguing central medallion. Clusters of V-formations and checker motifs lend an architectural reference, with chains of ladders floating across the upper field. A rather ornamental jewelry-esque quality, yet with a quite refined and restrained feel. Woven in a warm ivory, brown, and salmon pink with low pile and fine construction. 100% wool.

Beni Alaham

The Beni Alaham are a small sub tribe of the Beni Ouarain confederacy. Residing in the Middle Atlas range south east of Ahermoumou, the carpets of this tribe can be influenced by their Middle Atlas Berber Berber neighbors and tend to be on the more minimal side in regards to motif structures.
