Vintage Moroccan Beni Alaham Carpet BA11

An exceptional mid-century Beni Alaham, knotted in a mixture of espresso and warm camel brown on an ivory ground. The lozenge network is created with varying line thicknesses, appearing to shift in and out of clarity. A horizontal woven band creates a break near the center of the carpet. Some pile wear and fringe loss, lending character and evidence of age and wear to the piece. 100% wool.

Beni Alaham

The Beni Alaham are a small sub tribe of the Beni Ouarain confederacy. Residing in the Middle Atlas range south east of Ahermoumou, the carpets of this tribe can be influenced by their Middle Atlas Berber Berber neighbors and tend to be on the more minimal side in regards to motif structures.
