Vintage Moroccan Beni Alaham Carpet BA05

An excellent minimal mid-century Beni Alaham, knotted in a mixture of dark brown and black on an ivory ground. Faded coral punctuates the vertical lozenge chains, random smaller lozenges, and a broken horizontal line near the center of the carpet. Some pile wear and fringe loss consistent with age, which does not detract from the overall condition or character of the piece. 100% wool.

Beni Alaham

The Beni Alaham are a small sub tribe of the Beni Ouarain confederacy. Residing in the Middle Atlas range south east of Ahermoumou, the carpets of this tribe can be influenced by their Middle Atlas Berber Berber neighbors and tend to be on the more minimal side in regards to motif structures.
