Vintage Moroccan Aït Ouaouzguite Carpet AO13

A cheerful Aït Ouaouzguite with an energetic approach and painterly hand. A large central lozenge is surrounded by smaller floating motifs, some abstracted by checker forms. Meandering partial lozenge borders along both selvedges lend spontaneity to the composition. This weaver had no fear of color utilizing a palette of vibrant orange, pink, salmon, dark brown, and ivory wool on a cotton warp.
