Vintage Moroccan Tuareg Carpet TG11

Woven by the nomadic Tuareg tribes of Mauritania with palm reed and leather, these mats offer a textural alternative to traditional woven textile floor coverings. This piece exhibits a rather symmetrical composition of prominent cross motifs contained within square and rectangular borders. These vertical bands hold intricate woven patterns of lozenges, zig zags, and stripes.
