Vintage Moroccan Beni Alaham Carpet BA07

This exceptional vintage Beni Alaham carpet exhibits a minimal overscale lozenge pattern that appears to extend beyond the length of the carpet. Knotted in dark brown wool on an ivory ground, with a lustrous patina and silky hand. A flat weave band finishes both ends. Time worn fringe adds to the patina and character of the piece. 100% wool.

The Beni Alaham are a small sub tribe of the Beni Ouarain confederacy. Residing in the Middle Atlas range south east of Ahermoumou, the carpets of this tribe can be influenced by their Middle Atlas Berber Berber neighbors and tend to be on the more minimal side in regards to motif structures.
