Vintage Moroccan Beni Alaham Carpet BA02

An excellent minimalist mid-century Beni Alaham with low pile, lending a sense of clarity to the motif. Knotted in a mixture of dark brown and black wool on an ivory ground. Faded coral highlights both selvedges and is also present in the flat weave bands on each end. Some pile wear and fringe loss in a few areas, which does not detract from the overall condition or character of the piece. 100% wool.

Beni Alaham

The Beni Alaham are a small sub tribe of the Beni Ouarain confederacy. Residing in the Middle Atlas range south east of Ahermoumou, the carpets of this tribe can be influenced by their Middle Atlas Berber Berber neighbors and tend to be on the more minimal side in regards to motif structures.
